چکیده

Control charts are widely used for process monitoring. They show whether the variation is due to common causes or whether some of the variation is due to special causes. To detect large shifts in the process, Shewhart-type control charts are preferred. Cumulative sum (CUSUM) and exponentially weightedmoving average (EWMA) control charts are generally used to detect small and moderate shifts. Shewhart-type control charts (without additional tests) use only current information to detect special causes, whereas CUSUM and EWMA control charts also use past information. In this article, we proposed a control chart called progressive mean (PM) control chart, in which a PM is used as a plotting statistic. The proposed chart is designed such that it uses not only the current information but also the past information. Therefore, the proposed chart is a natural competitor for the classical CUSUM, the classical EWMA and some recent modifications of these two charts. The conclusion of this article is that the performance of the proposed PM chart is superior to the compared ones for small and moderate shifts, and its performance for large shifts is better (in terms of the average run length). A Self-starting Control Chart for Simultaneous Monitoring of Mean and Variance of Simple Linear Profiles

In many processes in real practice at the start-up stages the process parameters are not known a priori and there are no initial samples or data for executing Phase I monitoring and estimating the process parameters. In addition, the practitioners are interested in using one control chart instead of two or more for monitoring location and variability of processes. In this paper, we consider a s...

An Evaluation of an Adaptive Generalized Likelihood Ratio Charts for Monitoring the Process Mean

When the objective is quick detection both small and large shifts in the process mean with normal distribution, the generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) control charts have better performance as compared to other control charts. Only the fixed parameters are used in Reynolds and Lou’s presented charts. According to the studies, using variable parameters, detect process shifts faster than fixed pa...

A risk adjusted self-starting Bernoulli CUSUM control chart with dynamic probability control limits

Usually, in monitoring schemes the nominal value of the process parameter is assumed known. However, this assumption is violated owing to costly sampling and lack of data particularly in healthcare systems. On the other hand, applying a fixed control limit for the risk-adjusted Bernoulli chart causes to a variable in-control average run length performance for patient populations with dissimilar...

پایش پروفایل های غیر خطی در فاز II با استفاده از موجکها

In many industrial processes, quality of a process can be characterized as a nonlinear relation between a response variable and explanatory variables. In several articles, use of nonlinear regression is suggested for monitoring nonlinear profiles. Such regression has two disadvantages. First the distribution of the regression coefficients cannot be specified for small samples and second with in...

Economic design of x¯ control charts considering process shift distributions

Process shift is an important input parameter in the economic design of control charts. Earlier x control chart designs considered constant shifts to occur in the mean of the process for a given assignable cause. This assumption has been criticized by many researchers since it may not be realistic to produce a constant shift whenever an assignable cause occurs. To overcome this difficulty...
